Or maybe VW Customer Care tore them a new asshole, because this is so much better.
I have all my creature comforts again, including a proximity key, which is the single greatest invention ever created.

So... are you going to buy this?

At this rate, you might be able to review every new VW before the year is out.

No, it’s a loaner.
![]() 01/09/2019 at 16:19 |

If I need another loaner this year, I will be going to another dealer.

For now...but who knows?

Get used to it, you’ll have it for a while it seems.

I’m wondering what you think of it compared to my review. http://www.rightfootdown.com/cars/reviews/cars-reviews/2018-volkswagen-tiguan-vws-small-suv-goes-big/

Maybe not.

No, I won’t buy this. I’ll just get another GTI.

how close are you to declaring a lemon.
![]() 01/09/2019 at 16:26 |

Mine seems to be isolated. Is it a lemon, time will tell, but it definitely isn’t the standard.

The largest issue this has had is the dealer.

I would get one of these over a base Golf, but the third seat is dumb. It’s more nimble than the Jetta I had, but I feel like that had a lot to do with the tires. It’s a bit slow, and the 8-speed is a letdown. They should have given it a DSG.
![]() 01/09/2019 at 16:31 |

I also thought it was sloooow. And the 3rd row is really dumb. They s hould have kept it closer to original Tiguan size. Otherwise it’s a perfectly fine crossover.

When subaru was replacing my engine I got a limited edition outback, leather and all the bells and whistles, to many bells and whistles IMO.

I like my creature comforts. The GTI has heated seats, a proximity key, Carplay, a panoramic sunroof, etc.

The Jetta didn't even have auto headlights.

Agree on the proximity key. I have a wallet card one. I love it.
![]() 01/09/2019 at 17:03 |

It should be standard with the 2.0, or at least in everything but the very base model.

Buying a VW is like getting 30 vehicles to try out at one ptice since Everytime it’s in the shop you get a different loaner!

You expect far too much from VW, you can’t defend the brand when tons of people have this experience with all of VWs models.
I just do not think they make reliable cars, I think you give them far too much credit even when it’s hurting you.
Youll have to realize that at some point its not some rare occurrence.

So we need to put GTI stripes on this one for Daytona?
![]() 01/09/2019 at 17:40 |

Hopefully not. That said, it’s a great highway vehicle.

From my understanding adding a 3rd row or AWD allows them to classify as a light truck for the EPA so when their fleet average is calculated having a whole bunch of “trucks” that get so-so crossover fuel economy does a lot for them.
![]() 01/09/2019 at 18:28 |

Ah... That is dumb.

Except non-ancedotely, this gen has been super reliable. People sing the praises of Volvo and Subaru, and they make even shittier cars.

I “saved” this post because of the praise for proximity key. People hate on it, but unlocking your car without getting your key out, being unable to lock your car with the key inside, and pushing a button (or touchpad) on the door to lock your car are truly convenient features.
